12:00 PM 7th Annual USO Military Support Motorcycle Ride

The USO Support ride is dedicated to the USO, which supports our troops all over the world. Six years ago Fort Leonard Wood opened up a USO right here, so a bunch of people got together and organized a ride to help support this great cause. The USO only lives off of donations, so that is what this ride is all about. Every dime collected during the ride, from our sponsors goes to the Fort Leonard Wood USO, to ensure that they can continue to support our troops, until the last one comes home. Thanks to our corporate sponsors: Friends of the Fort Military Police Regimental Association Chemical Corps Regimental Association Army Engineer Association Phelps of the Fort Also special thanks to the Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA) for supporting us and opening invocations. Registration begins at 10am at Ozark Harley-Davidson, Lebanon. Departs at 12 noon and will end at the Fort Leonard Wood USO where a presentation to the Fort Leonard Wood USO will take place. Cost for the ecent is $15(donation) per motorcycle. All proceeds from the eent will be donated to the Fort Leonard Wood USO to help support the uniformed services. All riders will be required to wear eye protection, DOT Helmet, long pants, some form of riding glove, and ankle high foot wear. All military members and their passengers must abide by all normal PPE requirements.
10:00 AM - 3:00 PM American Red Cross Blood Drive

Lowes 120 Carson Blvd St. Robert, MO 65584 Shake, Rattle and Roll into a Red Cross blood drive May 22-July 31 and you'll be eligible to win a Gibson guitar, courtesy of The Gibson Foundation. In addition, you'll receive a rock and roll themed t-shirt. As a special incentive for our young donors, anyone aged 16-21 can enter to win a $5,000 scholarship! Because blood has a 42-day shelf life, it is important to keep a continual blood supply on hand. The need for blood not only arises after a catastrophe, but is constantly needed for surgeries and accident victims (where a single vehicle accident can use up to 100 pints of blood), as well as for cancer patients and those undergoing dialysis. Under normal circumstances, every two seconds someone in America will need a blood transfusion. But, less than 5 percent of the eligible population actually donates blood. You or someone you know is likely to need blood at some point in your life. When you, your family member or your loved one has medical trouble, you want to know that there will be enough blood to treat them. We all know you can’t schedule emergencies, so donating is a way to pay forward to give in advance. Even with all the worlds’ sophisticated medical technology, there is still no substitute for human blood. So even though the number of donor’s declines the need remains constant. You can donate blood every 56 days, which is 6 times a year. A single blood donation can save the lives of up to three people.
