Pulaski County Tourism Bureau
Kiwanis Club of Pulaski County meets 7:00am Thursday morning at Price Cutter's Restaurant, 300 Ichord Avenue in Waynesville.
Kiwanis Club is committed to the youth of our community, our country, and our world.
If you would like to be involved, please contact Tim Berrier at 573-774-6001 after 6pm.
When I was a child my grandmother would gather my aunts and us kids and take us "cemetery hopping." Looking back, the stories she told us while we were gathered around the headstones were more than just an anecdote- they were our legacy.
Now, it is my turn to pass on Waynesville's legacies to you.
Join me at Mitchell Cemetery and I’ll tell you a story….
Local historian Laura (Abernathy) Huffman brings former Waynesville citizens back from the dead by recounting stories of their lives and tales of their deaths at Mitchell Cemetery.
To lessen the impact to the cemetery, and because the location is in a residential area, tickets are limited to 25 individuals per tour. Only four tours ( September 26 & 27 and October 3 & 4) will be offered.
Tickets are $20 and include a one-year membership to Old Stagecoach Stop Museum and Foundation AND Pulaski County Museum & Historical Society- a $30 value. ALL proceeds of ticket sales for this event will benefit the OSSM&F & PCM&HS. Tips for the historian will be accepted at the conclusion of the tour.
CASH ticket sales (NO credit/debit cards or checks) begin September 10th at 2:00 p.m. at Eclectic Originals located at 225 Rte 66 E, Waynesville. First come, first serve. All in-store purchases made while purchasing a ticket(s) for Tombstone Tales will receive a 10% discount. (Not including the yummy ice cream)
Please arrive five-ten minutes early with your numbered ticket. Not responsible for misplaced, lost, or stolen tickets.
Mitchell Cemetery is located at the junction of Main & Elm streets in Waynesville, Missouri, one block north of Route 66.
*Laura will not actually re-animate our deceased town founders. That would be weird.
